Collaborative Midwifery Care for Complex Pregnancies

Some pregnancies are high-risk, and the delivery would be safer in a hospital, yet mothers with high-risk pregnancies may still want to receive the holistic advice and individual support that only a traditionally trained community midwife can provide. Choosing co-management can add a layer of support to help you achieve as close to a normal physiological birth as possible in the hospital setting. Choosing co-management care with the Biodynamic Midwife includes:

Comprehensive Maternity Care:

  • Attendance of all OB & MFM appointments to help build a solid support team between the client their obstetrician or maternal fetal medicine doctor and neonatologist with the loving and support of a holistic midwife. The midwife can help you to ask the right questions and to help you better understand complications and medical options for the safest delivery possible for both you and your baby. Many women who have had high risk pregnancies are left with more questions than answers throughout their pregnancy, birth and postpartum experiences. OB and MFM practices that mange high risk pregnancies are very crowded and the doctors simply do not have the time to fully sit down with a family to really explain things and often the family doesn’t even know what questions to ask. Doing co-care with the biodynamic midwife can eliminate those questions so you feel confident in your decision making and the decision making of the whole medical team.
  • Additional prenatal visits with the midwife in her private office that include problem solving issues and answering questions to support the optimal health of the mother.
  • Regular bodywork in the form of therapeutic massage therapy and biodynamic craniosacral therapy from the biodynamic midwife who is both a licensed massage therapist and craniosacral therapist.
  • Exceptional Evidence-Based Care and Personal Attention by a Licensed Midwife Who Specializes in Out-of-Hospital Birth.
  • 24/7 Access to Your Midwife to ask questions. Providing a  person to call if you feel worried or concerned who will help to navigate the hospital system and to help you understand when things are truly an emergency. She will help you initiate care with your OB and MFM so that things do not get missed.
  • Continuous Labor Support at Home in early labor and to the hospital When Labor is Established.
  • After your birth, you would enjoy baby weight checks, lactation support, and nurturing postpartum care in your home. No need to deal with the stress of leaving the house with your newborn- the care comes to you.
